Workshop

Mastering Assessment Skills for Effective Equipment Recommendations – Woodstock

January 14, 2026 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Join us for an engaging, hands-on workshop designed for pediatric physical and occupational therapists in Vermont who work with children of all ages and across all settings. This free, in-person training will focus on strengthening your assessment skills to better understand positioning needs in lying, sitting, and standing.

This workshop will guide participants through comprehensive assessment strategies that inform effective equipment recommendations. We will explore how to assess body structure and alignment, identify postural needs, recognize common body shape changes, and understand the risks associated with prolonged or unsupported postures.

As we strive for the best outcomes for the children we serve, equipment recommendations must be grounded in thorough, clinical assessment. This workshop aims to equip you with practical skills and a clear framework to support thoughtful, individualized decision-making.

The training will include a blend of brief lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice.

Whether you are new to this process or looking to refine your approach, this workshop offers valuable, take-away techniques to support comprehensive and informed equipment recommendations.
