Supporting Participation: Adapted Seating & Standing for Children and Young Adults

December 12 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Do you support children with motor disorders who face persistent postural challenges that impact their participation in home and school activities? Are you looking for effective strategies and guidance for selecting equipment to enhance posture for improved engagement?

This live online training is designed for pediatric physical and occupational therapists, as well as anyone, including families, who provide positioning support for children ages birth-22.

This training will explore the power of 24-hour postural care (24PC) to address posture and function throughout the childcare and school day. Participants will learn about a range of assessment tools, from quick checks to in-depth evaluations, to identify the postural needs of children with movement challenges.

This training will provide practical strategies for selecting and implementing seating, standing, and lying equipment that supports postural needs throughout the day. We will also cover techniques for monitoring equipment to ensure sustainable, long-term solutions.

By the end of the course, participants will have a clear approach to enhancing posture and function during the day.

This 3-hour, live, online course combines engaging lecture with individual and small group activities. Join us on Thursday, December 12, 9:00-12:00.

Continue your learning with a hands-on workshop focused on seating and body symmetry assessment, coming in early 2025.
