Research article: 24-hour activity for children with cerebral palsy: a clinical practice guide

Summary

Improved physical activity, reduced sedentary time, and healthy sleep, can benefit infants, preschool-, and school-aged children with cerebral palsy. It helps them both at that time and as they get older. But most healthcare professionals do not measure and manage problems with physical activity or sleep in children with CP. Because of this, many children with cerebral palsy miss out on health benefits.

This article presents an evidence-informed clinical practice guide with practical pointers to help practitioners in detecting 24-hour activity problems. This is critical for making children with cerebral palsy healthier, especially as they get older.
