Global Disability Studies
In partnership with the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion, internationally renowned scholar Sefakor Komabu-Pomeyie, PhD, has created several opportunities to explore disabilities studies through a global perspective.
Take an award-winning online course: May 18 to August 7, 2026
Each summer, Dr. Komabu-Pomeyie teaches Global Disability Studies, a course examining global aspects of disability. This course is fully online and can be taken alone or as part of UVM graduate certificate or micro-certificate in Disability Studies.
In 2022, Dr. Komabu-Pomeyie earned the Prelock Online Teaching Award for this course.
Bringing University of Cape Coast to Vermont
The International Certificate in Disability Studies offers students a chance to learn more about people with disabilities on an international level.
In a partnership with both the University of Cape Coast and the University of Minnesota, this revolutionary program supports people with disabilities in describing and pursuing community change.
