What to Know About Visiting CDCI<\/h2>

If you’d like to visit CDCI, we maintain offices on the 3rd floor of Mann Hall, on the University of Vermont campus in Burlington VT. Mann Hall is part of the Trinity campus, and there’s a display explaining the history of the building in the first floor hallway.<\/p>\n

From the North:<\/p>\n

Drive on I-89 South, and get off at Exit 14. Turn right at the traffic lights at the end of the exit ramp. Then go straight through the first set of lights (past the Sheraton Hotel), and stay in the righthand lane. You’ll merge right onto East Avenue. Go straight at the traffic lights past the police station, and continue north along East Avenue. Go straight through the stop sign, and then go straight at the traffic light that crosses Colchester Avenue. Mann Hall is the three-story red brick building to your left.<\/p>\n

From the South:<\/p>\n

Drive on I-89 North, and get off at Exit 14. Follow the clover-loop exit around as it turns you to face the west. Merge onto the top of the overpass, and stay in the righthand lane that continues towards the traffic lights. Then go straight through the first set of lights (past the Sheraton Hotel), and stay in the righthand lane. You’ll merge right onto East Avenue. Go straight at the traffic lights past the police station, and continue north along East Avenue. Go straight through the stop sign, and then go straight at the traffic light that crosses Colchester Avenue. Mann Hall is the three-story red brick building to your left.<\/p>\n

From the East:<\/p>\n

Take Williston Road over the I-89 overpass for Exit 14.<\/p>\n

Merge onto the top of the overpass, and stay in the righthand lane that continues towards the traffic lights. Then go straight through the first set of lights (past the Sheraton Hotel), and stay in the righthand lane. You’ll merge right onto East Avenue. Go straight at the traffic lights past the police station, and continue north along East Avenue. Go straight through the stop sign, and then go straight at the traffic light that crosses Colchester Avenue. Mann Hall is the three-story red brick building to your left.<\/p>\n

From the West:<\/p>\n

Take Colchester Avenue up the hill from the Burlington downtown area. Continue on Colchester Avenue past the South Prospect St hospital, and past the UVM Medical Center. When you get to the East Avenue traffic lights, indicate left and wait for a clear space to turn left into the Mann Hall driveway. Please be aware that there’s no protected left at these lights, and that pedestrians on the sidewalk in front of Mann will not stop. Pull into the Mann Hall driveway. Mann Hall is the three-story red brick building to your left.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Accessible Parking on Campus<\/h4>\n

There are accessible parking spaces located to the north, northwest, and south of Mann Hall. There are 7 accessible parking spaces in total around Mann Hall. If you have a current valid disabled parking tag for your vehicle, you just need to bring it in your car. Then you can park in any accessible parking space for free.<\/p>\n

Additional Visitor Parking on Campus<\/h4>\n

If you do not have a current disabled parking tag, you will need a parking permit to park on campus. If you are coming to Mann Hall for an event or for a Community Advisory Council meeting, CDCI will give you a parking pass. If you are coming by for a meeting, you will need to buy a parking permit.<\/p>\n

To buy a parking permit, you can either download the UVM Park Mobile app for your phone or you can call 1-877-727-5714 and pay Park Mobile over the phone.<\/p>\n

Parking on campus costs $1.50 per hour.<\/p>\n

Loading Zone Parking at Mann Hall<\/h4>\n

In the turnaround circle to the southeast of Mann Hall are two loading zone spaces. You can park for free in these spaces if they are available, for up to 30 minutes at a time.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Riding the Bus, or using SSTA<\/h3>\n <\/i>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\n\n

\n

Bus service in Burlington is provided by either Green Mountain Transit, or by the UVM campus shuttle service.<\/p>\n

Riding Green Mountain Transit<\/h4>\n

To reach CDCI’s offices by Green Mountain Transit, you would take the #8 bus, also known as the “City Loop” bus. As the bus travels east along Colchester Avenue, ask to get off at the stop right before the hospital. Or tell the driver you’re headed to the Trinity campus. The City Loop runs seven days a week, from 6am to 7pm.<\/p>\n

Green Mountain Transit buses are all accessible<\/a>, but you will need the driver’s help to get on and off the bus in a wheelchair. Sometimes drivers don’t allow mobility devices on board the buses if the buses are overcrowded. Plan extra time for your trip.<\/p>\n

UVM CATS Bus Service<\/h4>\n

UVM operates shuttle buses on several routes around campus. These buses are called the Campus Area Transportation System<\/a> (CATS) buses. The CATS buses run weekdays 7am – 10pm, and weekends 4pm – 10pm.<\/p>\n

Mann Hall is on the Campus Bus Route<\/a>, but the closest bus stop is down the hill at Mercy Hall. You will need to walk from Mercy Hall up to Mann Hall, a distance of approximately a tenth of a mile.<\/p>\n

UVM offers a free app<\/a> you can put on your phone so you can see if your bus is running late.<\/p>\n

Riding SSTA<\/h4>\n

The Special Services Transportation Agency (SSTA)<\/a> provides wheelchair- and mobility-accessible van transportation in Vermont. SSTA knows exactly where our offices are. If you’d like to book SSTA, contact their main office to get punch cards that entitle you to rides. You can contact them online with this form<\/a> or by calling their main office at 802-878-1527.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
