Unit 2: Identifying Constipation & Other Elimination Issues

Learn about the common causes of incontinence, and how they develop

Start this unit when you’ve taken bowel data.

The videos focus mostly on constipation. For children who are not currently being treated for constipation, we want to establish whether constipation or “incomplete evacuation” might be a factor (research indicates that it is for 95% of children who experience incontinence!), and for children who are already being treated for constipation we want to establish whether the treatment plan is working well or needs improvement.

We’ll also take time to identify sources of power struggles in your relationship with your child in toileting.
