Daily Life, Big Achievements: Interventions for Early Childhood Autism – Colchester
January 22, 2026 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Daily activities like getting dressed, brushing teeth, eating meals, or getting out the door can be tough for any family—and especially challenging for parents of autistic toddlers and preschoolers.
This interactive workshop will share current knowledge on how autistic children think and learn, paired with practical, respectful strategies to make everyday activities smoother and more successful. We’ll focus on evidence-based approaches that fit naturally into a child’s daily life, so families can continue using them after your visit ends.
This training is designed for both generalist and specialist providers who want to build their confidence in supporting young children and families.
Topics We’ll Cover
- Understanding autistic learning styles, strengths, and challenges and how they inform interventions
- Person- and family-centered assessment and goal setting
- Using coaching strategies to collaborate with families
- Optimizing physical, sensory, and social environments
- Selecting and using visual supports and video models
- Applying practical teaching methods such as chaining, prompting, and modeling
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
