This one-day, full-day training will increase your knowledge of eating, elimination and sleep
Eating, elimination and sleep are common challenges for children with and without identified disabilities. In the morning, we’ll focus on family-centered strategies for mealtime and food variety, as well as healthy elimination and toilet-teaching. We’ll also discuss basics of digestive health, and their overall importance for children.
In the afternoon, we’ll discuss sleep strategies for children and families. This session will cover the neurology of sleep, typical sleep patterns, common sleep problems and evidenced-based approaches to improving sleep and sleep routines.

Terms like self-regulation, behavior, sensory processing and emotional regulation come up often when discussing the needs and presentations of very young children with disabilities.
This training de-mystifies these concepts, with an emphasis on understanding sensory processing patterns. Interventions will focus on concrete ways to support each child to develop skills and resilience, no matter the diagnosis.
